Health and Safety

Prioritising Health and Safety

We believe that health and safety is an integral part of our company ethos, and we lead from the top. Our Health and Safety Management Policy, accredited to OSHAS 18001, influences all of our activities. Key elements of the policy are:

  • Organisation
  • Planning and implementation
  • Measuring performance
  • Auditing review performance
  • Implementing improvements

Guided by our in-house Group Health and Safety Manager we operate ongoing training programmes which ensure all staff attain at least a minimum CSCS Heath and Safety certification, and that all site managers are NEBOSH accredited. The Health and Safety Manger makes regular, unannounced site visit audits and subsequently results are recorded. Any defects are reported to the site manager for rectification, and where necessary new or re-training is implemented.

Regular 'tool box talk' and risk assessments continue our “safety first” culture. By maintaining regular communication with the HSE, and other regulatory authorities, we keep abreast of all current health and safety standards.

In our health and safety regime we do not differentiate between our employees and subcontractors- all subcontractors are health and safety vetted and approved. In an industry with a low reputation for health and safety, our records demonstrate an exemplary safety record.
