Our History

Established 1980

Since 1980, we have grown from a small construction firm on the outskirts of Kingston Upon Hull into a nationally respected Civil Engineering, Rail and Construction Company. Since the advent of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations in 1994, we have carried out in excess of 1,500 civil engineering projects to a value now exceeding £120 million.

After three decades of success as a civil engineering and construction company, in 2011 we decided to diversify the business further by developing a strategy to also operate within the Rail sector. In 2012, we achieved our Network Rail Principal Contractors Licence and are continuing to work on varying projects across different frameworks.

Since 2016, we have continued to expand and restructure the business. As bid management has become increasingly important to the success of the company, we have continued to strengthen the team in this area. Alongside this we also employed an in house SHEQ manager, and we continue to consistently employ apprentices to join our well established apprenticeship programme.

In 2016 Andy Gaze, who joined the company as an apprentice over 30 years ago, was appointed Joint Managing Director of the company. In 2017, we were delighted to move into our new offices in Hessle, which we constructed in-house on a design and build basis.

In 2020, Andy resumed the role of sole Managing Director, whilst Chris became Chairman of the CR Reynolds Group.
