Access roads and Infrastructure works

Bridgehead Business Park was identified as an ideal location for a new generation business park. Situated at the very heart of the Humber region, with fast, easy access to the country’s motorway network, it was thought that this commercial hub would offer a superb, futuristic base for any business.

C.R. Reynolds Ltd were appointed as the principal contractor to carry out Phase 1 of the access roads, infrastructure and drainage works of this business park in 2012.

The main activities of work carried out included the installation of new foul and surface water drainage, new roads with a roundabout and junction connected to A164, kerbs and tactile crossings (including one across the dual carriageway A164), traffic signals and signs, ducting for the street lighting and traffic signals, service trenches, tarmac roads and footpaths, new road markings and anti-skid and fencing.

The new site access road was connected to the main A164 trunk road that leads from the Humber Bridge to Beverley and beyond. This road carries a heavy traffic flow and carefully planning and management of these works was critical.

Other difficulties encountered were with the service installations and attenuation tanks, in addition to the fact that a large portion of the works in the ground were carried out during a bad winter, however we were still able to deliver these works successfully on programme and within budget.
