Doncaster Road is a busy trunk road serving heavy traffic in and out of Scunthorpe and so it was critical these works were planned and coordinated carefully and effectively to allow successful delivery of the job with minimum disruption.

The contract included the installation of a new bell-mouth entrance with associated drainage, installation of ducting for new traffic signals, footpath and carriageway works on

Doncaster Road, including the widening of the existing carriageway from single lane to dual carriageway, and the formation of a new central island. Following this, new traffic signals and pedestrian crossings where then installed. The carriageway was then re-profiled with new lines and antiskid surface dressing.

The works were completed on programme, within budget and to the delight of the client.
