Resurfacing and site works, Network Rail

These works were carried out at two Network Rail live maintenance depot unit's situated in Hexham and Morpeth.

All of the works had to be coordinated to accommodate for the ongoing operations carried out on a 24 hour basis by the Network Rail depots.

The works included various kerbing and drainage / manhole installation works prior to the excavation and stoning up to levels of the compounds in preparation for tarmac resurfacing works. There were also some minor street lighting works to carry out. Road markings completed the Job.

These works demanded a level of design input, initiative and a pro-active management in order to achieve success and the total satisfaction of the client.

The new site access road was connected to the main A164 trunk road that leads from the Humber Bridge to Beverley and beyond. This road carries a heavy traffic flow and carefully planning and management of these works was critical.

Other difficulties encountered were with the service installations and attenuation tanks, in addition to the fact that a large portion of the works in the ground were carried out during a bad winter, however we were still able to deliver these works successfully on programme and within budget.
