Progress Update: Huddersfield Junction Improvement Works

Works completed in September

Phase 1 & Phase 2

• Completed all kerbing works.
• Constructed traffic island on Lockwood Road.
• Opened the link road 15.09.2025, including new road markings.
• Configured the new traffic lights so the link road junction is fully operational.
• Completed all service diversions works.
  New pedestrian routes now put in place.

Phase 3

Completed works to the gate in the school grounds

Phase 4 / 5A

• Commenced site clearance – breaking out existing tarmac, kerbs and channels.
• Started installing gullies and ducting including duct chambers.
• City Fiber diversion works have been completed.

Future works for October:

Phases 4 / 5A

• Continue with site clearance works.
• Continue installing ducting, drainage and kerbs/edgings to footways.
• Install remaining illuminated signs and standard signs.
• Install new street light columns and cabling.
• Footway preparation inc. sub-base and compaction.
• Commence paving works to footways.
