Progress Update: Huddersfield to Halifax Improvement Scheme

We are pleased to share that great progress is being made on the scheme to improve routes between Huddersfield and Halifax and enhance access to the M62. These works will help ease congestion and deliver more reliable journey times between the ring road and Ainley Top roundabout.

September Progress

Area D

  • Site set up and Mobilisation
  • Traffic Management Set Up on Highway Network.
  • Site Clearance works underway.
  • Tree and Vegetation clearance complete.
  • Topsoil Strip underway.
  • Carriageway reduce level dig to formation (450m2)
  • Cut and fill operations commenced.
  • Installation and compaction of type 1 for carriageway & Base and binder course installed to new carriageway (450m2)
  • Commenced drainage and ducting works.
  • Commenced reduce level excavation behind existing retaining wall adjacent to Halifax Road.
  • Muck away in operation.

Area C

  • Tree and Vegetation Clearance Complete

Works planned for October

Area D

  • Continue Site Clearance Works.
  • Continue Topsoil Strip and Reduce Level Excavation to formation.
  • Commence S185 Foul Water Drainage Diversion Works
  • Commence Surface Water Drainage Works

  • Tree and Vegetation Clearance
