The works, situated on the busy A616 , dealt with large volumes of traffic which utilised the carriageway on a daily basis between Sheffield and Manchester, which had a significant impact on how the works where required to be constructed. With this in mind the majority of phased TM switches where implemented during evening hours to mitigate delays to people using the road for the daily commute. Coupled with this was a junction situated on the South side to facilitate TATA steel deliveries and general traffic. Due to the highly sensitive nature of the carriageway the works had to be stringently planned to ensure that the timescales and associated costs did not exceed that of the budget. The works where completed on time and within budget to the Clients satisfaction.
